In the "Overdrive" panel, you can adjust the sliders to change the core and memory clock speeds.  It registers in the "requested" box but it will not show the requetsed value as the "current VPU clock".  Are the requested clock speeds what the VPU is currenlty using, and if so, why doesn't it register in the "current VPU clock" box?

When using the automated clock configuration utility, I can see the "current VPU clock" value does indeed increase, but as soon as the utility is finished the "current VPU clock" value returns to the original clock speeds while the "requested" value remains where the utility leaves it.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I noticed this same issue. I think it might be throttling speeds when not under a load, but I have not had a chance to test it yet. If someone could shed some light on this that'd be awesome.

I found a post on techpowerup.com that might have the answer. I have a hd2600 pro and I think the CCC doesn't want me to OC it otherwise it'd be the exact same thing as an hd2600xt. Here's the post that talks about a similar situation.
