this might be a stupid question but, in the extended specification of that card it says "built for windows vista" at the bottom of the specs. does that mean it will only work on vista or do you think it will work on all windows platforms and they are just advertising the fact it works on vista?
The "built for vista" means that it has been certified for vista.
On XP, you could use hardware and drivers that had not been signed and approved by microsoft at your own risk (you had to check a box saying you understood that it could cause instability).
With vista, this is no longer an option. If the product and driver are now certified by microsoft, it's a no go for vista.
You'll be OK. It should work on XP no problem. It doesn't mean vista only, just approved for vista.

You can do it on Vista too. (I'm doing it on Vista x64 with the beta Nvidia drivers for Bioshock)
