I recently bought myself a new PC, consisting of a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R, a C2D E6750, 4 gigs of Corsair XMS2-6400/800 ram and a Hiper 580W PSU. Im also running Vista x86 Ultimate.
Now, yesterday i decided to test some OCíng. but my E6750 is displayed running at 1.8ghz! Some facts:
In BIOS, ive disabled
EIST (Speedstep)
C1E
C.I.A 2
Virtualization technology
Tried both setting CPU Host Control to disable (default setting), setting it manually to 333, and even 360mhz. Nothing happens. Multiplier is also set to 8x.
POST says its 1.8 ghz, Vista says its 1.8ghz, so does Everest Ultimate, CPU-Z, CoreTemp and some other app.
Power Setting in Vista set to High Performance (the previous setting allowed downclock of cpu)
BIOS upgraded to latest version, F4.
