I am building a new computer and need some help with making sure the CPU/Motherboard/RAM will all work together

It will be mainly used for office work, picture editing, maybe some video editing also, it will not be used for games.

I am looking at spending around $500-$600 USD max

Here is what I have so far

Motherboard

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] A-P35-DS3P

$149.99

CPU/Processor

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115003

$229.90

Memory

Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] +(2+x+1GB)

$76.99

I already have a video card, power supply, CD Drive, and DVD burner, and I don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. Just the tower part.

XFX 7600GT 256MB Videocard

Thermaltake TR2 550W PSU

I haven't decided on what case to get yet (want something with room for future upgrades)

I am thinking something like one of the following

APEVIA X-CRUISER-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811144151

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UB Black /Blue Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811119047

Antec Performance One P150 White Steel ATX Mini Tower Computer Case 430-Watt ATX12V v2.2 Power Supply - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129166

Any help would be great

If you have a camcorder and need firewire but not going to use the SLI or overclock, this would be a good board and will save you about $30.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813121314

I really like Antec but that one is really pretty pricey. This one is currently $90
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129018

The Cooler Master is a nice case at the price.

Best way to check the compatibility of RAM is to go to the mfg website, enter the mfg/model of the mobo, and they'll tell you what is compatible. I would go with the DDR2 800 given it will cost you about the same

The antec p150 is one of my favorite cases. It is being discontinued, being replaced by the sonata designer 500. They are both good cases, and are particularly quiet. Both include good power supplies, which you already have. The antec solo which g-paw recommended above is the same case, in black without the included power supply, and is priced accordingly lower.
The newly announced E6750 2.66ghz is a faster processor, and costs less $205. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115029
---good luck---

Looks like a nice system and should be very fast the only thing I might consider changing is the HDD, 500gb is the sweet spot right now and you could get one for about $20 more but other than that your system looks great.

To the OP.......I would recommend a different mainboard. Either this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128059 or this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128050

I'm not sure which features you plan on using so the lesser one may be better. I plan on going with the second one I suggested for my upcoming build. Also, I plan on using the same case except I am getting mine from here: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Prod [...] ode=141760

That'll save you $10 initially on the case and then there is an additional $10 rebate too. I am also going with the same HDD as you. I recommend this RAM however: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820220144

Can't beat less than $65 for 2GB of C4 DDR2 RAM!!! All that should save you an additional ~$70 from what you planned on getting.
