[edit] - fixed the shutting off part now have another problem

 

I have a continuos beep when the computer starts that won't go away. I haven't loaded an OS yet. The manual says it is a graphics card problem but it is pluged in and working fine?? any ideas?

 

System as follows...

 

Core 2 duo E6750
above motherboard
nVidia geforce 8600gt
transcend jetram 1GB ddr2-800 , 240pin , 64Mx8 CL5, 16 chips x 2
thermaltake soprano black tower with 430w supply

I have the same board, it has a 4 pin (2x2) socket for the cpu & a 24 pin (2x12) as the main power supply socket. The power supply should have a 4 pin connector for the cpu & a 24 pin connector for the boards main socket. Sounds like you may need a new power supply if you only have a 4 pin & a 20 pin connector. Should be a 4 pin & a 24 pin. How old is your power supply? Recheck to be sure. Read the manual as well.

I recall the same problem when 1st powering up and I think all I did was go into Bios and chose default or safe setup and it cleared the long beep. Made small adjustments since and it's been OK.
