Steam Vunerability effectting my system

So, here is what happened so I have borderlands 2 through steam and I would play it and then there came a point where I closed the game and re opened it and it started to update for no reason my browser started to really slow down this is on a fios connection with 30 mbps down and 25 up so I was a bit puzzled. So I ran eset nod32 and Ad-aware. Ad-aware found trojans in my computer's system there were a few a couple were generic but it was clear that they were slowing my system down so I had them deleted. Ran the scan's again on both clients nothing came up. And now all of a sudden this morning i have a sound issue i had to mess around with my sound drivers to get my astro a40 outputting sound. I'm just completely beside myself. This is what I'm considering doing. What does the community think any help would be awesome thank you.

1. Backup everything onto 2 dvds
