It doesn't have to be max graphics, I just want to know if I'll be able to play Oblivion, and what specs (what resulution etc.) can I set the game so it'll run more or less smoothly..

My computer hardware:

Intel core 2 duo E4400 2.0Ghz 2MB Cache s775 800Mhz

Motherboard: Asus p5b(775 Conroe, Intel p965, DDRII 800, PCI-E, HDAudio, GBL)

Kingston HyperX 1GB DDR II 800 (two of them, so its 2 GB DDR II total)

Gigabyte 8400GS 256MB (the weekest thing in my Comp...)

My friend told me to check TomsHardware's VGA chart, but my beloved 8400 isn't even in the chart, so you can understand that right now I'm a little bit panicing...

Please help!

Yes you can, I have no experience with this card, so I don't know how well it will run, but I know it will.

the low/mid range dx10 cards out right now are unfortunately not very good. You would of probably got some better performance out of getting a older gen card...You can probably play the game but I would recommend low resolutions and low settings...and I mean low...

Nope you won't be able to. Maybe if (AND THAT'S A BIIIIIIG IF) you used the www.oldblivion.com mods you might stand a chance, but there are no guarantees since the 8400GS is even weaker than the 8500GT (Is that even legal?)

And the worst part is that you have a pretty damn decent computer that could run any present and upcoming game except for the graphics card.

oh yeah, and oblivion is probably the game you will get the best performance/IQ since the shader intensive way it is made, it is the only game 8600's run competitivly, and I would imagine the same would apply with the 8400's
