More Information

I've built two machines and had the "apparent" bad luck of buying motherboards that do not support S3 stand-by (fans off but not hibernate). The later of the boards is a BIOSTAR 945P-A7A(8.0) and I spoke to their tech-support who said I hadn't bought a high end board! I believe him because I spent weeks debugging the stand-by mode in Linux, XP and Vista and eventually contacted Biostar about it. I buy everything on newegg and I can not figure out from the information they give, or manufacturers pages they link to, which boards do and don't support S3 stand-by. How can I tell?
