More Information

I am doing a new build, the spec would be something like:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
Asus p5n-E or Asus P5k-E Mobo
Seagate 250 GB HDD sata II
Sapphire X1950 pro
2GB Crucial ballistix pc2-6400
Samsung DVD writer
Antec p180b case

I already have a HEC branded PSU that came with an old computer bought in 2005, the model is a HEC 550TD PTE and is rated at 550 watts output. Could anyone please tell me if this is a decent brand for PSUs? If it is good then I will re-use it, if it isn't then I will have to buy a new PSU, although not sure which.

Many thanks
:) :) :)

Make sure it has the right connectors for your motherboard, like 24 pin power connection, pci-express power connection, etc. You may be able to buy the right connections if they are missing, but I would recommend a new power supply in that case.

As far as power 550 Watts is sufficient for that system.
