It is possible to recover files without backup?
An IT technician told me since my backup is not running from June 2009 I lost all the files I am working on since that date. It's that true? Exist another program or software can help me out with this issue? Please advise.

Depends upon what's happened to them. Some file recovery utilities might be able to find them. A better chance of recovery would be had by letting a professional data recovery service look at your hard drive - that's going to cost. If the lost files are really important to you that would be the best bet.
