Yes folks, in a bid to piss everyone off AMD has released a pic of the new opteron logo two weeks before the Official launch of the chip. Word from around the wibble is that more than Barcelona will be announced that day.

Who knows what will happen but with the faster ramp of Fab 36 it's possible that Sun won't have to wait for Budapest or perhaps that R600 has made it to a socket or HTX slot which will improve upon the TFLOP AMD demoed earlier this year.

Exciting times to say the least.

Here is the pic, exciting as it's NOT.

I have also heard they will be releasing something big around that date. The source said that they cannot say what it is, or even hint whether it is ATI or AMD, I guess they don't want to get fired. But, this person seemed confident in the LITTLE bit of info he/she gave. We will see, good luck to AMD to get competitive again.

I don't think the other was very well-received so I figured I'd go as opposite as possible. I'll change it as soon as I get sick of it.
