I would like to get a new pc. I have built all of mine for many years. The one I have now is over 5 years old so time for an update. I am looking for something Quite, Fast and great graphics. I play video games and do graphic design work and video work. I was looking at Intel for CPU, Cool master for case and for MOB an Abit board. Also looking at 4 gig of ram but not sure if it is over kill or not. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks

You need to give a budget, and storage needs. But for starters, if you have a decent budget for this one and quietness is important I'd look at the Antec Solo case. 4GB is a lot, most people are sticking with 2GB for now, but I guess it depends on the nature of your design/video work.

Lian-Li can hardly be beat when it comes to building quality, very quiet cases. Great, stable board with the latest P35 chipset, Intel core 2 quad Q6600 CPU which you can easily overclock to 3.2Ghz at the very least with the cooling included in this build, fast DDR2 800 ram, 320GB of space, one of the best PSU ever made (video review here:

,monstrous 8800 GTX, I recommend EVGA because they offer step-up program exclusively. 9800GTX is suppose to come out in November, card is expected to be 2.5x faster than 8800 GTX (which is insane), in order to get it you'll only end up paying about $150-180, more here:

If you are not interested in overclocking at all, you can skip all the cooling components.
Best of luck.

Ok, thanks for the help. I also need a nice flat screen 24-30 inch screen.

Any ideas on models/brands?

There are 2 24" Flat Panels that I have researched for quite some time now. The Samsung 244T and the BenQ FP241W. Both widescreen. Either one, according to all the reviews I have read would do well for your setup. The BenQ has slightly better performance than the Samsung and it also has more input options. Both are around the same price. $680 and up. If you don't mind a refurbished unit, you can get the BenQ direct from the manufacturer for $429.00 plus shipping. I plan on getting the BenQ as soon as I save the money for it.

I built the below system for Video Capture/Editing/Production and some gaming. Hope this info helps!

Reviews for the LCD's (Just one site - other sites that have reviewed these pretty much say the same thing as this site about the monitors)

Looks good man!. get the EVGA because of their step up program. Spinpoints are great, so good job with that.

Looks like you'll have a great system there. Good luck with everything!

ok, On the power supply is this the best? I wanted something that did not crack my electric bill up. Right now I did a teat with mine and did not use the pc for a month (hard to do) and then next month did but when not using turned off. My bil was about $80 higher, so I am after a great power supply/ system setup. :)

That PSU is really great. You shouldn't have to worry. Corsair makes really good PSUs as well.

Good luck with everything!

Oh and I sent you PM :)
