I got an EVGA NF68 A1 680i SLI mobo from newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188013

Got a 1D error everytime except for when I just put 1 DIMM in slot 3. I guess a lot of people were having this problem, as well as others. I hear you have to reapply thermal compound to nb/sb and mosfets for it to run properly. I'm gonna RMA this board for a refund when I get a new board. My question is: should I get another one of these? I have ddr2 800 ram (2x2gb)

And I have a 8800gtx, but want the board to be SLI compatible if I choose to upgrade in the future.

The other boards I was thinking of getting are the 650i's since I haven't heard many problems with them. I really don't care about anything but support for anything but ddr2 800 ram, since I'll probably just get a ddr3 mobo and ram a few years down the line when that becomes affordable. Should I got with one of these boards? I'm willing to pay up to the $220 I spent on the 680i on a new board. Or should I got with another 680i I got.

Yeah.. I was thinking of going with the plus, but was unsure of a few things about it. Does it have onboard audio? It says 6 Ports by SupremeFX Audio Card, but has a supremeFX audio card slot. Do I need this card for audio? or does it have onboard audio?
