When my homebuilt pc boots up it says non os system disk press any key to reboot. I press a key and the message pops up again and so forth. I have had xp sp2 installed for about 6 months without any problems. What should I do? I by luck have got it to boot normally.

Check the BIOS and make sure that the drive with the OS is the first in the boot order. If that doesn't do it, run the diagnostic/repair software from the hdd mfg website off a floppy

Check to make sure you don't have a CDROM, Floppy Disk, or USB device inserted into your system. There is a small chance some of these could cause the problem.
