Upgrade System

Hello I need a bit of help. I would like to upgrade my system a little bit but don’t know my best route. I mostly play FPS & RTS: CS:S, C&C3, COH…
This is my current system build:

ASUS A8N-SLI
AMD 64 3500+ Manchester 2.2GHZ (939)
EVGA 7600GT (580MHz)
Corsair XMS 1GB DDR400

I don’t have but a little bit of money $50-$125 to upgrade. I believe I have 4 options:
1. AMD X2 4200+ 2.2GHZ $90
2. Another video card for SLI $80
3. 1GB Ram $55
4. 2GB Ram $110

Thanks for your help. I am not ready yet for a complete system upgrade.

If you can save an additional $20, go with the CPU and an additional GB of RAM

If I wewre you then I would just wait to get an extra $20. Upgrading the cpu and memory will be the best thing you can do.

Just explain to her that with dual core you need the additional RAM for the 2nd core and hope she doesn't know what your talking about

Get the new CPU and RAM then fake prices on the the receipt and then tell your wife that you just got a very good bargain.

You could get the OEM x2 4200 and 1GB of RAM for $122 if your current HSF will work with the CPU. Could save about $17 going with the X2 3800. Either way you're within your $125.

SLI'ing two 7600GT's isn't worth it. The step up from 1GB to 2GB may not be as great as the step up to a dual core processor. I vote for the CPU upgrade.

If your Corsair XMS RAM is the 2-2-2-5 stuff, maybe I can buy it from you.. Let me know!
