Hey there,

Not to big in overclocking, but decided to give it a shot. I have a XFX 8500GT 256mb DDR2. Its memory clock should be 800Mhz, but in nTune it shows as 400Mhz. The core clock is correct, at 450Mhz at stock. Im not sure if it is the RAMDACs. Since that is running at Dual 400Mhz.

My computer specs:
P5N-E SLI
2x1GB Corsairs 533Mhz DDR2
Pent D 3.2Ghz - 800Mhz Bus
4x500GB HDD

Right now, im assuming its the ram, gonna get some 800mhz rams later this week, to see if it improves.

Any help will be appreciated

This is normal as the memory ir ddr (double data rate )what thet show in the specs and on the bow is the effective rate as its a bigger number seems better to the buyers but ntune /control pannel will see it as half.

Thanks for the reply, I understand know, just wasn't sure. I have another question. I've been using ATI most of the time, and crossfire can basically use any GPU model to do crossfire, but levels it out to the lowest. Can I mix a 8500 GT and a 8600 GT to do SLI?
