  1. I have the 500w version. It is not one of my better psu's, but it works fine so far and I got my rebate so it was like $20. The unit you chose does not have active pfc. I think the psu is fine, but if you are running dual 8800's or even SLI'd 7900's you might consider a unit with a 'rated' efficiency, more 12v power and possibly modular cabeling, but cabling is not overly important. You might list your system specs and get some more opinions.
  2. I know you stated your budget, but I just bought this unit. It's 600 watts and the specs are far better than the Coolermaster. 18a x 4 12v rails. active pfc. 80% efficiency rating. Just some food for thought. Exact specs as the 600w Gamestream, but much cheaper without the modular cabling. And the price is cheap.

  3. My advice -- Don't scrimp on the power supply.. CoolMax is known for having quality issues.. Give this page a read - it may help.

it has better efficinecy. i think the rails are fine 16 and 18
  7. That's the one I'm using on this PC right now. I just installed it a couple of weeks ago.

    AMDFX55
    ASUS A8N-SLI
    EVGA 7600GT x 2
    Crucial Ballistic PC4000 Ballistic LED 4 x 512
    etc.

Works good for the past 2 weeks. Time will tell.
  8. I have this one. I think that is the rebate I got to. I think there was an aditional $5 or $10 off when I bought it! I have had it long time, but just used it recently.
