I recently went and put 4 1gig strips of the OCZ 800mhz ddr2 ram into my computer. Everything booted fine, and after running OCZ, it was clear that the ram was in and working - or so I thought.

I ran task manager afterward, and windows said I had 3 gigs of ram. I've verified this same problem in both xp, and vista.

Here's my setup:
QX6850
Asus Striker Extreme
4gigs DDR2 OCZ 800mhz
8800 ultra

Anyone know why windows is only seeing 3 gigs of ram, and cpuz as well as my bios sees 4gigs?

yes thats because u r using XP32 and VISTA 32 , if u want all of your ram to be recognized u have to use 64BIT OS ,
