How can i get my pc to use a 5 1 system?

Hello,
how do i check that my pc is capable of being able to use a 5.1 surround system?

The system's sound processor and supporting software must support 5.1 surround output capability. The MB or system manual may have the information. Or perhaps check Device Manager>sound for the chip and driver ther system is equipped with. A third party sound card as simple as this provides 5.1 sound capability.
