Hi everyone ,
i've been using my Cpu @ 2.7 Ghz for a time @ 1.437Vcore , and wanted to go higher but then realized that for a boost of 300 Mghz , i have to increase the Vcore to 1.60v . is that normal ? ( Idle Temp : 30 , Full Load : 51 )
i read in Other forums , that many have been able to Overclock 2160 to 3.4 Ghz and even higher with less Vcore ...
http://www.benchmark.co.yu/forum/archive/index.php/t-143111-p-3.html
( i couldn't undersand the language but it was clear enough ... :D )
--------------------------------------------------
MoBo: Asus P5K
CPU: E2160@3056MHz@1.400v(BIOS)
MEMORY: 1GB DDR2 800MHz OCZ Gold Edition XTC@917MHz(4-4-4-12)
COOLER: Gemin II ( 2X120mm fan )
Cooler Master Premium Thermal Compound Kit
Ima vdrop sa IDLE 1.376V na 1.320V u LOAD rezimu.
Temp. IDLE =37
Temp. LOAD=65 and also
E2160 @ 3200MHz @ 1.375V

MoBo: GIGABYTE P31-DS3L @ FSB-356MHz (moze i 400x8)
CPU: E2160 @ 3200MHz @ 1.375V (u Biosu setovano na AUTO)
Memory: 2x1GB KINGMAX DDR2-800 @ 854MHz

Ima vdrop sa 1.375V u IDLE na 1.344V u LOAD rezimu.
vDrop koliko sam video po netu od 0.025V je sasvim normalna pojava pri LOAD-u.

Temperature @ BOX cooleru su:
Core temp (Tjunction)IDLE/LOAD: 43°C/80°C
CPUcase temp (Tcase)IDLE/LOAD: 33°C/68°C .

wanted to know , if there is any other thing that i should do , except increasing Vcore and FSB , when overclocking 2160 so that i might get a result like those posted on many websites ...
Thanks !

Ps : i'm using Asus P5k , Intel 2160 + CoolerMaster Eclipse , 2 * 1 Gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer

Splendid
First thing to know is you can't get the exact same o/c with the exact same settings from someone else. Every part is different. Even 2 e2160's are different. In a nutshell, you can't copy other settings & expect the same result.

The P5K has a bit more settings than some other P35 boards like Gigabyte's. It's a bit more complicated.

Have you read the o/c sticky here? When you up the FSB & it becomes unstable, you up the NB/MCH voltage by a notch. Don't go over 1.5v vcore on air.
