ummm.... really i dont know...... because this computer is like an offer and the price is for all the components together

the price for this computer is nearly 2000$
i think its kinda too much , what do you guys say???

Quad is better, unless you intend to upgrade again next year. Q6600 is the CPU you want.

$2000 is a bit much, especially since I'm not happy about the case/psu/video card/mobo.

Here's what I can get for CAD$2600 where I live. I suspect it would be about US $2000 from newegg, and it's way better than that machine you've been offered:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 8MB/1066FSB S775 CPU, Retail $319.00 1 $319.00
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R S775 P35C ATX Mainboard (GbE/Audio/Raid) $195.00 1 $195.00
Kingston HyperX 2GB DC PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory Kit $161.00 2 $322.00
Seagate 7200.10 500GB 7200RPM 16MB SATAII Hard Drive, 5Yr $118.00 2 $236.00
LG GSA-H62N 18X DVD+/-RW SATA Drive BLACK, OEM $35.00 1 $35.00
BFG Geforce 8800GTX OC2 768MB PCI-E Video Card $659.00 1 $659.00
Thermaltake Armor Extreme Edition Full Tower Case (Black, No PSU) $191.00 1 $191.00
Corsair HX 620Watt Modular Power Supply $199.00 1 $199.00
Microsoft Remote Keyboard/Mouse for Microsoft Windows XP MCE, Infrared $88.00 1 $88.00
Samsung 940BW 19" LCD 500:1 8ms Monitor, Black $224.00 1 $224.00
*Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition DVD (32Bit - OEM) $124.00 1 $124.00
Total: $2592.00
(all prices in Canadian dollars, but prices are higher in Canada than the exchange rate would justify)

Maybe you have a friend who wouldn't mind putting these together, I don't know. You'd be better off spending your US $2000 this way.

Oops, yeah, I should have said GA-P35-DS3R. It just wasn't on the list on teh Website where I put the list together. You don't really need DDR3 support, so go with the P5K or GA-P35-DS3R and save $30 or so.
