I have 2GB of DDR400 G.Skill with a cas latency of 2.5. Should i upgrade to PC2-6400 800MHz memory or higher? The DDR2 memory has higher latency so I wasn't sure if the frequency difference overcomes the latency in terms of performance. Thanks guys..

Are you building a new system?

FYI you won't be able to plug in DDR2 into a DDR slot so unless you have one of the rare motherboards that use both you'll not be able to use PC6400 memory.

OK

2GB PC2-6400 memory has the best price point right now. I wouldn't suggest any faster unless there is not much price difference. If you're looking at going core 2, none of them require more than 667MHz ram to run at stock speed, so 800 still has overclocking room.
