Download windows media player 10 drivers

Hello,
I am using windows xp service pack 3. When watching videos I recorded with a webcam,the videos plays very fast and the sound plays very fats and high pitched. Sounds like the chipmunks lol. I was using an older version of windows media player then I tried to fix with media player 10 but still the same thing. I tried using real player and still the same thing. What am I missing here? What do I need to do to correct this. I thought it was my camera at first but I tried to listen to a lecture from my school with both real player and media player and it was still playing and sounding very fast. I tried adjusting the speed too. Please help me with this.
