Haah

just goes to show how bad dust can be when it comes to cooling your cpu parts.

Iv got the x1950 pro by sapphire and when I first bought it, it used to idle at 47 degrees or there abouts. This was back in the winter days, so my room was relatively cool. Since then the cards idling temperature kept rising till it hit 63 degrees while idling. I originally thought, hey its summer....my room is hot...this was bound to happen. Sooo, to try to combat this issue, I yanked up the fan speed to 100% but soon realised this had very little effect. That's when it hit me....I hadn't cleaned the card out since I'd bought the damn thing :pt1cable:

This generally applies to all graphics cards (using air cooling). If you've had it for a few months....I suggest you clean it out if you don't already do so. It took me no more than 5 mins to take out my card, open the top cover (the one with the picture), marvel at the amount of dust that had clogged up the heat sink and clean it!

This took my idling temp down from 63 degrees C to 40 degrees. Well worth the 5 mins spent don't you think?

have a nice day :hello: :hello: :hello:
