8800 gts 320 vs 640 mb longevity

I know that the 8800 gts 320 and 640 mb versions have about the same horsepower but different amounts of ram for handling higher resolutions. My question is will the extra memory on the 640mb allow me to keep the card longer for future games? I'm pretty sure I'll buy one or the other at some point, but I don't have a super awesome monitor and will probably use it until it dies (which will be a very long time).

Thanks in advance for ya'lls input.

In theory, yes, but future developments usually have a way of rendering current theories useless.

640meg version of this card already takes advantage of the extra vram now.

Call of Juarez is one that takes a major nose with 320meg version. Bioshock also shows some serious hampering when AA is applied.

I think there's a bug in the 320meg version if I remember correctly. Nvidia is trying to come out with drivers to fix this issue but it hasn't come out yet.
