hi all thinking of going vista soon :) , and i know you need lots of mem for it :p, i have an asus commando MB , so what would be better ??

2 sticks of 2GB dual channel = 4GB

or 4 sticks of 1GB dual channel = 4GB

2 sticks because of the slight performance degrade from running 4 sticks. Plus the added benefit of upgrading later without having to remove 2 sticks of RAM.

1 X 4 will be cheaper and faster (because of lower latencies)
2 x 2 will allow you add more RAM later.
You can find low latency high-dense RAM, but that is really expensive.
Also, you don't need to care much about latencies / timings unless you like to overclock.

Anyway, you get the idea. Faster RAM costs more and it's easier to get fast RAM in smaller sticks.
