Getting full screen TV view from laptop HDMI output

1. Is there a setting that needs changed to watch full screen movie from laptop to TV, cables connected but picture is no larger than screen on laptop.looks like a box on the 32" screen. Also the picture will go blank after a few minutes but audio is continued at which time I must move the mouse to get pic,back. Thought it was the screen saver setting so it was changed from 15 min to 60 however that didn't help at all.

Hi,

When the laptop is connected to the TV, go to the display properties and increase the resolution. Also look at the refresh rate to match the TV.

To stop the laptop from turning off the monitor, go to 'Control Panel' then 'Power Settings' and increase the time under 'Turn off display'
