Can you recommend a simple video converting and DVD burning software?

I am not sure if this is the proper section, but I need to get a bunch of home movies from my computer and organize them, I guess convert them, and burn them to DVD.

My wife has been after me for years for this, and I really need to get it done.

I don't want to spend a ton (much) for what I think should be a fairly easy thing, as I am not looking to do much editing (no time).

Thank you very much.

If you are looking to just convert the videos, I would suggest Format Factory. It can convert most media to most any format.

Thank you. Can you recommend a proper format to convert to, in HD, for viewing with a DVD player?

Thanks again.

It will simply convert the format. I don't believe you will get HD out of it. You simply need to find out what format it's currently in, and what format you want it to be in.

aford is leading you down the harder path for doing this.

All you need is a tool called converxtodvd. It's not free, but automates the process of converting any video to dvd format with high quality, and burning the result to dvd or iso file as you prefer.

Thank you.

How does it compare to Corel VideoStudio X4?

It is faster and does better conversion quality than Corel VideoStudio.

Thank you both. I tried the ConvertXToDVD, and it seems pretty good.

Thanks again.
