So I am upgrading my system on a budget and I plan on using an OC'd E4300 w/ 2 gigs of ram and I cant decide what card to go with. The X1950Pro 512 meg costs 150$ roughly and the 8800GTS is nearly 300$. I want to play BioShock and FEAR for the moment and in the future I would like to be able to play Crysis and Hellgate London at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 (my monitor cant go above 1280x1024 so higher resolutions are a moot point unless I decide to get a new monitor in a couple months). Will the X1950 Pro be fine for my gaming needs or is the 8800 really worth double the money? I was also contemplating using the X1950 Pro for a while and waiting to upgrade to the 8800 when it gets cheaper, a good strategy or a waste of time? Im also planning on sticking with XP if that makes much of a difference. Thanks!
