Howdy people.

Looking for an answer to the following scenario plz?

I have my OS (Vista x64) installed on a single HDD
I also have a 3 disk RAID 5 array for storage purposes

I want to re-install my OS onto a new single HDD

Is there anything special that needs to be done with the RAID array to ensure it will be picked up ok when the OS is re-installed?

Is the RAID 5 configured throught the onboard controller?
If it is then no there is nothing that needs to be done.

If its configured through windows then you are best backing up all your data on the RAID5 incase it doesnt see it on the new install.

why not install the new OS then install the raid card with drivers but no drives... then install the drives. then import the array. if the card is capable of importing the array you should be fine. other then that yea back up back up back up.
