Can't reinstall scanner driver for Epson RX500

When trying to load the scanner driver for my epson RX500 onto my computer i get the following error message.
C:\DOCUME~1\TOBYLA~\LOCALS~\TEMP\\ESCWIAD.DLL
I believe this is a registry error? All the other other drivers have gone back on fine and it prints ok, just can't scan to pc. It was working before but since getting anew harddrive and reinstalling all my ahrdware it simply won't!
Xp is sp3
Computer is a amd phenom 940 x4 if that makes any difference?
Epson were unable to help as say its an xp probelm.

Do you have antivirus /antimalware installed in your system??
Do a complete system scan!
May be possilblity of malware!

Avira has very good internet security, real time updates, great overall protection.

2. Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/ .
Malwarebytes is one of the best malware scanners.

3. Ccleaner - http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download .
Ccleaner is a great all purpose tool. The most useful tool is probably the registry cleaner.

& Scan the system!
