i was wanting to ask a few question about overclocking my amd athlon 64 x2 4600 2.4 ghz

i do alot of 3d modeling and i was hopeing this might help with render time

i just barely buught this computer just for the 3d modeling purposes , and it is not meeting my expectations

im not a computer noob , but i have never overclocked before. i dont see that i will have a problem with overclocking but i am concerned with cooling , as i said i just bought this computer and dont really want to fry it cause i over looked something or something as trivial as being in to much of a rush. And end up frieing something. i allso know there is risk in fring something but its usualy overstated , and happends where you over volt somthing. (from what i have read)

heres my specs as far as i know , i got alot of this info from cpu-z

Proccessor:

Amd Athlon 64 x2 4600+
2.4 ghz
windsor
Socket am2 (940)
1.368V
multiplier x12
bus speed 200 mhz
ht link 1000 mhz

graphics card:
nvidia geforce 8600gt 256 mb

Motherboard:
msio k9vgm-v
VIA k8m890 chipset based
model # ms-7253
Pheonix v1.5 BIOS

RAM:
2x 1gb sticks of corsair dual channel ddr2
400mhz
clock (timings i guess) 5-6-5-18-23

now i havent overclocked anything yet , because i got speed fan to monitor temperature , and i read everywhere that over 50C was getting high , not too high but not sugested i guess. so i ran orthos , and after 3 minutes , core temp reported my core 1 and core 2 temperatures at about 52 c , there at about 32c idle, and this is stock. so that rased my concern of overclocking. this rig was built by i localy owned company where i live called big slide gaming rigs. im not sure what kind of case i have , or what kind of fans they have. i know on the side theres a clear plastic see through glass with an intake fan , then on the top of the case there an exhaust fan , it looks to me like theres a decent heatsink fan right over the proccessor. and the PSU has an exhaust fan as well. this seems like a decent amount of cooling on the surface , but i have no idea what kind of fans they are or anything

i guess im asking if anyone has any sugestions of why it would be going over 50c , with stock speeds

speed fan reports my temps as follows
System: 102f 39c
CPU:97f 36c
AUX:99f 37c
Temp:137f 59c
hd0:118f 48c
hd1:118f 48c
Core:86f 31c

if anyone has any feedback i would apretiate it , forgive the long post . tring to be thoughrough

The temps reported by core temp are usually higher since it reports the temperature inside the cpu. Your cpu temps according to speedfan looks normal though. If you're not planning on overclocking too much, your stock heatsink and fan should be okay, otherwise you might consider a aftermarket heatsink/fan.
