Should I update my BIOS? I have the F3 BIOS currently but Gigabyte has out the F6 BIOS now. I'm not encountering any sort of system instability, apart from the kind you find when you're overclocking but I want to know...
is there anything to be gained from updating your BIOS?
Like, oh I don't know... more stability for overclocking? or performance gains in... well... anything?
Yes I'm certain of what my board's make, model and revision is. I'd use @BIOS a windows-based utility that helps search and update my BIOS which is provided by Gigabyte. And I'd make sure I wasn't overclocked while I flashed my BIOS so that it wouldn't crash at some odd time.
I guess what I'm asking is what will I recieve if I update my BIOS.
The general consensus seems to be to only update the BIOS if you're having a problem. That being said, I've always updated thinking I could avoid problems and have never had a problem doing it. In fact, just updated the BIOS on one of my machines today
