OK. I've got my 4200+ running at 2.5 GHz (228x11 @ 1.3V). It's very stable. 35C idle.

I'm wanting to overclock memory. I found this in a forum: http://overclock.net/amd-general/91-ultimate-overclocking-guide.html

"CPU/RAM Ratio, FSB/RAM Divider, etc - This allows you to run your mobo and CPU at a different clock speed than your memory. However, generally w/ AMD boards, a ratio of 1 (1:1, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, etc) will yield the best performance. Running your mobo and CPU at 200mhz FSB w/ a memory ratio of 6:4 (memory running at 133mhz) will not be very advantageous."

Is this true about the ratio? Does this mean I need to try to up my FSB to 400MHz or lower my memory to 228MHz. Currently, CPU-Z says my PC6400 memory is running at 418MHz @5-5-5-18. It also says the FSB:DRAM is CPU/6. According to the quote above, I would need to change this to CPU/1?

I've given myself a headache trying to figure this out!! Please help. I've been reading forums for hours and just can't make sense of it!

CPU-Z is telling you that your CPU clockspeed (2.5Ghz) divided by 6 = your RAM speed which is 418. If you change this to CPU/1 your ram would run at 2.5Ghz!

okay so CPU-Z is telling you that your memory is running at 418. That is only for a single channel. Your memory is running at 418 x 2(dual channel)=836! Your memory is already overclocked.
