I've recently begun playing xbox live, and I have a verizon fios router in my family office downstairs, and in my bedroom I have my xbox(along with my laptop). I have the original black xbox router hooked up to my xbox receiving signals from my fios router and it has the tendency to constantly have a serious lag off and on. My friend suggested doing one of two things,or both depending on the outcome of the first
1)Setting up my fios router in my bedroom to connect to my laptop and xbox and the using the xbox router downstairs on the PC(since lag on the pc isn't as costly as xbox live).
2)Purchasing a wireless router and place it in my room and hook up the xbox using that router. If thats the case, how would I hook that up? would i plug my router into my xbox or continue with my xbox router but then receive signal from the new router in my room?
I'm new to all this router information so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
FYI, i found this router for like $35 on amazon like brand new just opened box. I would get that if I was to get a router, just because of the decent reviews and price.
