I have a Q6600 and 4GB DDR2-800.
I am thinking how other can overclock their Q6600 to 3.5ghz if the memory multiplier is 2.0 at the lowest?
I can go to 3360 max (420FSB, 8x), but not higher. Even I raise the vcore, the system will shut down with a blue screen (Vista Ultimate 32-bit).
So, how people get 3.5GHz with DDR2-800 without frying the memory?
Or should I try 400 x 9 and memory to x2 to get 3.6GHz but memory will run with 800 as it should?

my asus p5k deluxe/wifi motherboard with G0 stepping Q6600 runs stable with a 1.38 v-core at 3.4ghz - 380FSB x 9 multiplier. temperatures hover around 37c idle up to 58-59ish c under max load. I however splurged a tad with my 2gig crucial ballistix tracer kit 1066mhz rated.

FSB:DRAM 4:5 at this setting the ram must reach 950mhz (which may explain your blue-screen if your using "value" ddr-800 ram)
many gaming/enthusiast brand DDR2-800 kits will reach the required frequency however to gaurantee the higher overclocks you will have better luck with 1066 rated ram kits.

hope this helped. good luck.
