I am looking at building an all new PC and am unsure of what I should really be going for.
I am currently using an Sempron 2500+ (1.4GHz), 640MB DDR266, AIW 9600, XP/SP2; I'm not really a big gamer- WoW, Empire at War, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, are the main games I play so I am not looking at a dedicated GPU. It's been a decent PC for a few years but it's time to upgrade finally.
I am looking at a new cpu/mobo/ram mix; The main reason I am wanting to upgrade is because my iTunes Store Videos are stuttery, installing Vista soon, and I am going to start using VMWare often.
I've compiled two builds and would appreciate any advice or input on them (one AMD, one Intel). Again, I am not making a gaming "monster" or anything and will not be doing any overclocking (for now at least).
Quick Questions: Which IGP is the current leader, x3000 or GF7025? Will that be good enough for iTunes video playback? C2Q looks good (6600) but is it a good buy right now/value? Anyone know of Phenom bringing in new powerful budget CPU's (well, powerful as in compared to my POS); How will the IGP's above fare when compared to my already low end Radeon 9600?
