Question about p5n32 sli premium

I have this motherboard and was thinking about upgrading the processor. It says this motherboard supports core 2 extreme but not quad core. Why in the world would it support extreme and not quad? Is it possible it does support it, it just doesn't say that it does? It is so much cheaper and smarter to get quad core vs. extreme. So if anybody knows anything about this let me know please.

Well ASUS is too lazy to say it will support QuadCore , if i am not wrong it says : Except QUADCORE and there are tons of peple who use QuadCore on it , so dont worry it supports QuadCore
