Hi,
I have just installed vista ultimate (32bit) on my nearly 1 year old pc. My only real problem (so far) is that when I insert a dvd into my drive (LG gsa-h10n) all the open applications just freeze. If I wait long enough, the autorun window pops up and everything goes back to normal. If I choose to browse the dvd, its all well and good. But when I choose to install something (games, etc) it takes forever to complete, and the system repeatedly hangs! I have updated my dvd drive with the latest firmware, but it didnt resolve anything :fou:

Btw everything worked fine under xp and the installation to vista worked flawlessly

can anyone help me pls? :(

Specs:
C2D E6600 @ 3ghz
2Gb Corsair Ram
Asus P5B deluxe w/Wifi
Xfx 7600gt
250gig hdd
and obviously windows vista 32bit :)

Hi,

if you are using a sata dvd-rw, put your sata in bios in IDE mode.

Saw similar problem with xp/vista when sata dvd drives are in ahci mode.

The support site shows two firmware files. Are you using one of these?

You need to navigate to the driver section and get to your drive.
