No.

It can only be done using hardware like high speed cameras.

Not so long ago there was an good article over at XBit Labs that explained how they tested LCD monitors:

Ahh ok, thanks for the replies! and the article very interesting

I was just asking cause I'm not sure if my BenQ FP202W has too much ghosting or not as it is my first one. Maybe I'm just being picky. I also notice some ghosting I think when I move my mouse around. I don't really see a cursor trail, just the cursor looks a little blurry when I move it around. I haven't been able to compare it to my CRT but I downloaded this program called PixPerAn that is supposed to test monitors.

Anyways when you open the program at the top there is this little red car with a guy that is holding up a sign that scrolls pretty fast across the screen. I cannot at all make out what the sign says. I took a picture of it with my digital camera.

I NEED MORE SOCKS LOL

Reason why I am concerned with this because I was planning on buying the xbox 360 VGA cable to hook up to this monitor. However, I'm not sure if playing FPS's like Call of Duty or Halo would work out well with this ghosting.
