Download windows updates manually?

Hello, i would like some help on how to download all the windows update files from Microsoft manually, not through the automated process of Windows Update. To be more specific, i have a Windows XP Home CD dated 2006! so it lacks A LOT of updates, so i want to download all the updates that have been made since then to my hard disk in order to slipstream(?) them into a new WinXP installation CD, so that i don't have to spend 3 hours updating each time i do a fresh windows install..
