Hi all,

My friend has decided to go with the following config.

proc - intel dual core E2160
mobo - asus p5k-vm
ram - transcend/kingston 2x1gb

reference: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/09/12/pentium_dual_core/index.html

I think the above mother board Asus p5kvm can be used to oc the e2160 to 3.2 ghz with stock cooler. is that right?

will the above config be good in supporting vista and oc?
how is the oc capabilities of this mobo?

or the other config is

proc - intel core 2 duo e6750
mobo - intel dg33fb
ram - transcend/kingston 2x1gb

I think we cant overclock in intel mobos, right?

which of the above will be better? and in what terms?

since he is tight on budget, he has to go with either of the options. since had some bad exp with amd, he doesnt want to go with amd this time.

pls provide your suggestions.

Thanks.

The e6750 would be better. If you're going to seriously overclock, you should get a better HSF, stock is fine for moderate. If he is that concerned about maxing performance, why is he going with onboard video?
