I am trying to figure out a good upgrade for my computer to play battle front 2142, fear, battle for middle earth 2 rise of the witch king, halo 2 with I currently have a sapphire radeon 9800se and my computer seams to shut down after playing almost any game for a few minutes and get really hot almost to hot to touch, I tried adding a fan card below it but it still crashes so i figured maybe a video card update would make it so it doesn't have to work as hard.

AGP card... depending on how good is the rest of your system it may better to just build a new system altogether. However if you have say... a decent s939 platform with 2 gigs of ram, then the X1950 Pro or X1950XT AGP from GeCube might be a good upgrade for it.

i got a intel lga 775 board with a celeron d 355 3.33 mhz just put that in from my athalon xp1800 in may. and 2 gigs of pc4200 ddr2. have to use this motherboard for a little while with minor upgrades so wife doesn't get mad about another motherboard update already lol.

Well the only thing I can think of is OC the HELL out of that Celeron to over 4Ghz and put in an X1950 Pro to get somewhat of an acceptable gaming performance.

 

Otherwise, the best affordable course of action is something like this:

This is the cheapest possible best upgrade/remake I can think of that will allow you to play those and upcoming titles properly.
