Planar PX2611W or LG L245WP-BN?

I'm about to order my new computer, but I can't decide on a monitor. Has anyone used both of these: Planar PX2611W and LG L245WP-BN? I can get the LG here in Europe, cheap at about $900. If I want the Planar, it's a lot more effort to get it and about $1500, so it's a big difference. (and for those of use that live in the US and are blessed with Newegg, I know the monitor is only about $950, but with shipping to the UK and import tax it winds up a lot higher!)

I know the LG is an S-PVA panel and the Planar an IPS, but is it worth the price difference. I know the planar is 2" bigger, but same resolution and to me 24" is already huge....

Any opinions are welcome....
