So I never really thought anything of it because it doesn't effect me in anyway...

However here's something interesting.

BIOS is set for 400x8.

CPU-Z reads BIOS Properly.
Windows reads 3.6 GHz.
CoreTemp reads 450x8.

i am experiencing a similar problem on a 3.44ghz E6750, core temp defines my multiplier as 573.33x6, while CPU-Z reads 430x8.

edit with pic:

however, problem didnt exist when i was sitting at 3.2.

XP doesn't correctly interpret G0 Stepping multpliers. Not a problem, just something to be aware of.
