New build, problem with avi playback, 8600gts

I just revamped my system. I am running all new components except HDDs. I have about a hundred movies stored on my D drive, in AVI format. When I go to watch a movie that I had viewed with my previous P4, 9600xt setup... it plays fine. Movies that I never watched on the old system are terrible. Every one that has never been played back has real bad "ghosting". There is a bright yellow haze and the images are duplicated off to the side. I tried to remove the driver and it wokred after restart. Once the card is identified it prompts me to install drivers. I do so and on restart, it happens again. I have tried 3 differnet nvidia drivers and no dice. Thanks for any help.
