Cannot Delete xxx xxx: The Directory Is Not Empty Windows XP

Hello, I get this message [Cannot Delete xxx xxx: The Directory Is Not Empty Windows XP]when I try too delete a new folder in my "E" Drive (Where I store all my music, Back-Up, Excel, Word, PDF Ect.

Hi Newcomer, Welcome here!
Please make sure that, any of the subfolders are not open, Or any other files inside the folder is not used by system.
Restart the computer & try to delete again!

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Start in safe mode and try to delete the folder, and make you sure that the folder doesn't have any hidden folder or file.

How can I tell if "Or any other files inside the folder is not used by system."? Thankyou, Newcomer

you have to see any installed programs in that folder is running or any music/image or others files are being kept open while deleting the folder.

What fixed this problem was doing the Check Disk function on my hard drives. I got that off the net. Regards, Bob
