Please Help, 3DMARK CPU Test Crash

Hello everyone. Longtime reader first time poster. I've seen many people get their problems solved here so I thought, why not me? So here goes:

Yesterday I got my shiny new EVGA 8800GTS 640. I decided that my system was cluttered and decided to fresh install everything including the OS. Here's my system setup:

BFG 680i SLI motherboard
Intel E6600 core2
EVGA 8800GTS 640
2gig crucial ballistix 800
soundblaster fatal1ty pro
Antec Trio 650w power supply


So I install my OS, my nforce chipset drivers, my nvidia xp32 beta drivers (I'm in HG:L beta), my soundblaster drivers (from the cd) and I update those soundblaster drivers from the automated update program that came with my soundblaster software. Everything seems to be running fine.

So then I think, "I should benchmark this!" So I go download 3dmark06 and run it. Well, when I get to the CPU test my system just turns itself off. What's even worse is that when I reboot, my sound no longer works. What gives? Whenever I run 3dmark06 (free limited version) there's never been any sound so I'm not sure why that would affect it. Previously I had 2 BFG 7950gts 256 in SLi, but want to go to DX10 whenever they get that working properly. I never had any problem before.
