Hello,
am trying to restore my machine to the out-of-the-box state and i keep getting this error message "ERROR: 10-FC06-0002"

That error narrows it down to either faulty recovery media or a defective hard drive. You can either attempt to get new recovery media (from Toshiba) or test your HDD. If your reason for restore was because of declining system performance, the issue may be the HDD.

Indeed. If you are getting that message when you try to enter the recovery partition, it would seem as if there is an issue with the files within the partition or the partition itself, i.e. the hard drive.
