I've only bought one ATI card in my life but I still say right now that 512mb x1950xt for $199 is the best deal out there (if your cheap PSU doesn't choke).

I suppose the P4 will be a bottleneck though.

If you are in the USA with $100 to spend, this X1900GT for $99.99 shipped free and no rebates is your card. It takes the prize in bang for the buck IMO right now. Coming from a 6600GT it's a big step up too. Just make sure you have a decent power supply. You are going to want close to a 450W name brand PSU with a hefty 12v rail/rails. What's the 12v rating on that el-cheapo 500W?

wow yea.. the x1900gt is an excellent choice for a hundred bucks. Usually at this price point the 8600 gt woulda been the option, but this card beats its easily.

I agree with the cpu.
Psu should be next. Like this one:

Then see what your 8 series choices are like by Xmas. Prices should come down some maybe?
Just my opinion
